Cindy Dremely
Franchise Owner
Cindy comes to Project Walk with a love of helping others and watching others grow through the challenges they face. As a teacher and coach for 18 years Cindy brings that same energy and love of teaching to Project Walk Houston. Cindy has had firsthand experience with SCI. In 2013 her son, Brooks was injured in a motorcross accident. She has watched him train and gain from his time with Project Walk. You are sure to feel the energy she brings to this facility as you enter the door.
Ross LaBove
Facility Manager & Certified Recovery Specialist
Ross is a graduate of Lamar University where is received a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science and Fitness Management. Ross has been involved in the fitness and rehabilitation industry for over 10 years and has a strong understanding of the functions and vital processes of the human body. His energetic and motivating personality enabled him to be a great fit in the paralysis community.
 
Ross moved from Dallas with his wife and dog Cheech to be a part Project Walk Houston and for an opportunity to bring hope and recovery to the Houston community. Ross is an avid sports fan and enjoys spending extra time at the gym and relaxing with his family.
 
Ross is dedicated to his clients and their families to provide more than just recovery to help them learn and adapt to a new way of life.
Jacob Calhoun
Certified Recovery Specialist
Jacob graduated from the University of Texas in 2012 with a Masters Degree in Kinesiology. He worked in a physical therapy clinic in Dallas, TX for a year before transitioning to a spinal cord injury recovery facility before coming to Project Walk.
 
Jacob is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
 
Jacob is thrilled to be joining the Project Walk – Houston team and looks forward to bringing his expertise to those living with paralysis.
Kristopher Vierra
Certified Recovery Assistant
Kris graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in Sport and Exercise Science. Immediately following graduation, he started an internship program at an adaptive gym and eventually hired on for two years. He relocated to Dallas Texas in the summer of 2013 to be closer to family members. There he continued his work in the spinal cord injury field until he moved to Houston to join the Project Walk family.

Kris holds a certificate as a Clinical Exercise Specialist from ACSM and is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys hunting and fishing.
Kara Waukau
Certified Recovery Assistant
Kara began her college career at the University of Houston – Victoria. While attending U of H she was majoring in biology and played on the U of H softball team. After 2 years she decided to pursue a degree in Fitness and Human Performance and transferred to the University of Houston – Clear Lake campus, where she graduated in 2014. Kara has supervised a private gym in downtown Houston while in school. Just after graduation she worked in a pediatric rehabilitation facility. When Project Walk Houston opened she visited and knew this was her calling and jumped on the opportunity to become a member of a dynamic team. Kaya enjoys being active, playing all sports and working out. She also has a heart for helping others and continued learning, a great fit for Project Walk.
